Pain management is care for pain that lasts after an injury or keeps coming back. At Quantum, pain management specialists visit each of our locations every week: they evaluate you there, and their care fits into one plan with your physical therapist and chiropractor.
When pain management can help
- Pain that hasn’t eased after several weeks of therapy
- Nerve pain from a herniated disc, sciatica or a pinched nerve
- Back or neck pain that limits your work or your sleep
- Pain that lingers after a car accident or a work injury
What the specialist does
The visit starts with your history, an exam and a look at any test results you already have, including EMG/NCS when a nerve is involved. From there, the specialist recommends what to add to your care, and your physical therapy, chiropractic care or acupuncture continues alongside it.
Interventional pain management
When therapy alone doesn’t control the pain, the specialist may recommend an interventional procedure, such as an injection near an irritated nerve or joint. They explain what it involves, its risks and where it is done, and the decision is yours. Read how chiropractic care fits into pain management.
Billing for pain management
Pain management is provided by the visiting specialists’ group, not by Quantum staff. Ask the location you choose how it is billed for your case.
