Acupuncture places very thin needles at chosen points on the body to ease pain. At Quantum, it is part of the plan alongside physical therapy and chiropractic care, mostly for back and neck pain, sciatica and injuries, and it is offered at all 10 of our locations.

What acupuncture is used for here

What a session feels like

A typical session uses 5 to 20 needles, which stay in place for 10 to 15 minutes while you lie still and relax. The needles are so thin that most people feel little as they go in; a mild ache when one reaches the right depth is normal. Afterward you may have a little soreness or a small bruise where a needle was.

Tell us before your session if you are pregnant or have a pacemaker: some points are avoided in pregnancy, and the mild electrical pulses sometimes used on the needles may interfere with a pacemaker.

Acupuncture as part of your care

Acupuncture works best here as one piece of a plan. It can make the movement in physical therapy and chiropractic care easier while the pain settles, and for pain that persists, pain management specialists visit our locations.

Paying for acupuncture

When acupuncture is part of your care for a car accident or a work injury, ask the location how it is billed in your case. We also accept health insurance depending on your case, and self-pay.

What types of cases do you accept?

We work with Personal Injury, No-Fault, and Workers’ Compensation cases. We also accept health insurance, depending on your case, and offer self-pay options.

What can I expect during my first visit?

During your first visit, you will receive an initial evaluation with one of our providers. Your provider will evaluate your condition, discuss your concerns and symptoms, and determine an appropriate treatment plan.
