Hurt in a slip, trip or fall? At Quantum Physical Therapy & Chiropractic Care we treat what a fall leaves behind, from back and neck pain to sprained wrists, knees and ankles, with physical therapy and chiropractic care. New patients are usually seen the same day.

If you hit your head, can’t put weight on a leg, or have severe pain, numbness or weakness, go to an emergency room first. If you fell at work, your care is usually a Workers’ Compensation case.

What to do after a fall

  1. Get checked, even if you feel all right. A strain or a sprain can take a day or two to make itself felt.
  2. Report the fall where it happened: to the store, the landlord or the building’s manager, and ask for a copy of the incident report.
  3. Take photos of the spot if you can, such as the wet floor, the broken step or the ice, and write down what happened while you remember it.
  4. Keep the names of any witnesses, along with the report, the photos and your medical records.
  5. If you fell on someone else’s property, an attorney can tell you whether you have a personal injury case.

Fall injuries we treat

  • Back pain and herniated discs after landing hard
  • Neck pain from a jolt to the head and shoulders
  • Sprains and strains in the wrist, knee, ankle or shoulder
  • Rehabilitation after a fracture

Physical therapy after a slip and fall

An evaluation comes first, so your provider knows what the fall did and what it didn’t. From there, physical therapy brings back strength, balance and range of motion in the injured area, and chiropractic care treats the spine and the joints that took the impact. You see the same provider through your whole course of care.

For pain that doesn’t ease, pain management is available through specialists who visit our locations.

Paying for care after a fall

It depends on where and how you fell. A fall at work is a workers’ compensation case. A fall on someone else’s property may become a personal injury case. We also accept health insurance, depending on your case, and offer self-pay. Call the location you choose, and the team will go over your case with you.
